I have the Sims 2 and all EP's and SP's on disc, but I did get the UC on Origin when they were giving it away. I just wanted a digital collection for ease of use. But I heard it SecuROM. I'll be honest. I have no clue what that is.

From what I got out of it, it was some form of Spyware. Now, I do have Origin installed on my computer already (along with Sims 4 thru Origin and several other Origin games). I'd like to install Sims 2 UC on my computer (I don't want to mess with the discs and do all the manual updating. I'll already likely have to fight the black shadows under the sims and that is annoying enough). So my questions are. What is SecuROM?
