After reading so far into Pieces of You, I began to wonder if any of these stories actually happened to the witter himself. Thus to satisfy my curiosity, I went to Wikipedia to look up the reason behind writing this book and the connection it had with the author's life. I was rather surprised that all the stories were from when the author was still in college.

However, from this fact I was able to understand why some of the meanings in the stories may be too deep to understand. The book itself was aiming towards people in their twenties and university professors, so it may not be the most understandable book for those under age twenty.

Except, one thing i got out of reading this book was that each piece was depressing. In my opinion, this may have been one of the closes one to how Tablo felt because when one looks back at their life at a teen, they will usually find that they did a lot of things that had more effect on his/her parents then on them. This being said, the parents are now old and possibly even weak and it is during this time when the child leaves probably feeling guilty for giving his parent all that crap during his/her teens.
