I've only looked through it a bit but I don't think there's any commentary by the artists themselves which bums me out. I also have the Matrix and Dead Space concept art books.

Anonymous Mon Jul 22 18: The best art book I've ever seen for dealing with the process of concept art is The Skillful Huntsman.

Whereas other art books related to dealing with the making of a movie or game skim over the process of creating designs, the skillful huntsman goes into exceptional detail about exactly why the artists use this method or that and deals with concepting everything from characters, lanscapes, architecture, gadgets, creatures, ect. It also is a great intro to learning to shape-wield in the context of design. Another one I enjoyed for simply the sheer amount of work on display was the hobbit part one art book. Whether you like the movie or not, it shows way more art than any of the other lord of the rings art books did and does go into some of the process and thinking behind this or that.
