Nra Handbook The Basics Of Shotgun Shooting
Students take this course to learn how to properly utilize a shotgun to shoot a moving target. This course is at least 10 hours long and takes place in the classroom and at the range. Learning objectives include: • NRA’s rules for safe gun handling, • shotgun parts and operation, • shotgun shell components and malfunctions, • shooting fundamentals, • range rules, • shooting at straight away and angled targets, • cleaning, and • continued opportunities for skill development. Course materials include: • NRA’s Basics of Shotgun Shooting handbook, • NRA’s Gun Safety Rules brochure, • Winchester/NRA Marksmanship Qualification booklet, • the Basics of Shotgun Shooting examination, and • a course completion certificate. ** COURSE POLICIES ** • NO LIVE AMMUNITION will be allowed in the classroom. You may bring your cased firearm to class with you but please leave ammunition in your vehicle. • We reserve the right to refuse services, to anyone, for any reason. • We reserve the right to terminate instruction if Total CCW instructors deem a student’s cooperation or behavior to be unsatisfactory and/or unsafe. That student will be removed from class and forfeit any payments.
(HANDBOOK ONLY) This handbook on shotgun shooting is one in a series of NRA publications on the basics of shooting. It is the student text for the Basic Shotgun Shooting Course and includes such topics as how your shotgun works, ammunition, selecting a s. Students will receive the Basics of Shotgun Shooting handbook, NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure, Winchester/NRA Marksmanship Qualification booklet.
• All courses will be filled on a first come basis through registration ONLY! • Course dates/locations may be changed/postponed, due to enrollment, weather conditions, and/or other events beyond our control. • Students not in attendance with no prior notice will forfeit their payments or may be subject to a $50 rescheduling fee. • Students requesting a refund for an already scheduled class date will be charged a $25 administrative processing fee. • Students may reschedule any class up to 7 days prior to the scheduled class date at no charge.
• Students rescheduling a class within 7 days of the class date may be subject to a $25 rescheduling fee. You must call the office to reschedule any class. • Students rescheduling a class within 24 hours of the class date may be subject to a $50 rescheduling fee. • A handgun and ammunition will be available at an addition charge for the shooting qualification section. • Returned checks will be subject to an additional $35 service charge.
COURSE GOAL: To teach the basic knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary for the safe and proper use of a shotgun in shooting a moving target. OVERVIEW: The Basic Shotgun course can be as short as ten hours. In it students will get the NRA's The Basics of Shotgun Shooting handbook and intensive lessons in safety, gun handling, fundamentals of shotgun shooting, several practical exercises on the firing range, cleaning, storage, and a summary of shotgun sports and activities.
PREREQUISITES: The are no prerequisites for taking this course, and the material is accessible to appropriately supervised mature children. Role Play Gamemode Samp. Be aware that the proper fitting of a shotgun to a shooter can be time-consuming. Students will receive feedback on the live-fire exercise and a course certificate upon successful completion of the lessons.
There is a short written test on the lesson material at the end of the course.
