Review: More than a few eyebrows were raised at Junodownload HQ when we first heard this fine EP from Marcus Worgull, which marks his return to Innervisions after a three-year absence. While the title track is in some ways typical of the label's output in recent years - think Balearic guitars and passionate Americana vocals over a slick and hypnotic tech-house beat - the other two tracks are a notable departure. Both explore the sub-heavy swing of authentic dub-house, with alluring, speaker rattling, delay-laden, percussion rich shuffle of opener 'Skango' particularly impressive. 'Seen', where dub bass and rolling deep house beats are encased in bubbly electronics and smile-inducing synth riffs, is also impressive. Review: Straight out of Kingston, Jamaica, Moonshine Recordings team up with the unstoppable force of Bukkha for a melodic masterpiece of an EP. Featuring multiple original vocal performances, this EP entitled 'Unity' sees Bukkha delve deep into his dub roots, especially with the vibrancy of the first track 'Unite' featuring Clinton Sly. The combination of dub-style drum arrangement and airy woodwind melodies on this and 'A Burial' featuring Don Fe makes for very enjoyable listening. The stripped back dub-reggae stylings of 'Peacemaker' alongside Blind Prophet and the murky drum and bass switch ups of 'Dark Future' round the EP off perfectly. This is another fantastic look at dub music from a different angle, a scenario that Moonshine Recordings have become synonymous with in recent times! Review: Glasgow's own Scotch Bonnet continue with their super popular Scrub A Dub imprint as we draw towards 2017's close. This time around they delve back into the deep dubstep market with two fantastic original creations. First up, Cumbria's 'Somah' steps forward with wonk inspired work of magic, bearing the well deserved title 'Rollin Dub'.

On the flip side we turn down a more dubstyle avenue, courtesy of JSM's weighty arrangement of 'King Of Kings'. As ever it's great to see dub music is well and truly alive and thriving with the UK underground scene! Review: The shape-shifting, corner-dwelling AKI joins Foundation Audio with six new murkers, each one supremely balanced and meditative. This, as you'd expect, is the deeper end of the dubstep spectrum, and while tunes like 'Shimmer Dub' or 'Spectre' might not tear it up on first listen, they can cause some serious hertz damage when played out loud and BIG!

'Cesspool' stumbles in an off-kilter manner, boasting a tenebrous gust of bass at its core, while 'Artefakt' feels like the more minimalistic extreme of the grime equation, which leads on nicely to the closing remix of 'Shimmer Dub' from Chad Dubz, another impenetrable wall of low frequencies and pure heartical vibes. Review: We were very excited to see Rotterdam based techno-dub outfit: Dub Communication kick off the year in style with their sixth official digital release alongside Masis. This EP is a fantastic showcase of where electronic dub music is currently. Masis works the background space beautifully across both tracks, with 'Alla Dem Dub' focussing on the slow march and eerie atmospherics and 'Unearthed Dub' traversing the expanse of space above the subs. On remix duty, Frenk Dublin manages to expand the depth of 'Unearthed Dub' even further with his bass heavy rework.

Review: Moonshine's Mister Mystic steps forth from his Polish lab with his debut album Dod and it's every bit as immersive and spellbinding as his reputation and spotless body of work suggests. As always, all flavours are welcome in his highly strung melting pot; from the techno-like 4/4 and late night hypnosis of 'Dubplate' to the mind-blowing brain rocket 'Rig Alert' via the cavernous, dungeon wall slapping 'Find The Way', Violinbwoy seamlessly smelts and fuses ideas, elements and traditions from across the world with his own late night, smoked out, heavily musical signature. Dod means dead in Danish, which is exactly how you'll feel if you sleep on this one. Review: Suns Of Arqa are back on Emotional Rescue with a new single that finds them building on their illustrious career fusing Indian classical approaches with dub energy. 'Acid Tabla' works off a steppers thrust but equally capitalises on the textural, rhythmic delights of the titular tabla. Who better to remix such an outernational dub excursion than Adrian Sherwood? His treatment is a light, respectful tweaking that keeps the spirit of the original intact.
